The four partners of PuRPOSE have met in Montpellier for the kick-off meeting of the project!
On 11th and 12th December 2019, the PuRPOSE team at the University of Montpellier welcomed representatives of the partners of the University of Siegen, the Limerick Institute of Technology and Réseau Entreprendre for a two-day meeting, aiming at getting to know each other, overseeing the contractual and financial aspects of their collaboration, and paving the way for the implementation of the project.
In the course of presentations and working sessions, the partners discussed the methodology to adopt in the first phase of the project, which aims to study the representation of research in management by the students, and more particularly to understand the motivating or impeding factors related to the consideration of a PhD after their studies. During the kick-off meetings, the PuRPOSE partners agreed on the methodology and the structure of the study and the consequent report, as well as the calendar of implementation of this study.
Furthermore, the partners discussed in anticipation the second phase of the project and identified the different activities which would aim to inform students on research in management studies and the perspective of a PhD, and to foster successful applications to PhD programmes. Based on the project application, the partners decided to set up a website providing relevant information to the students, and a training programme that would support potential PhD candidates to acquire research skills and prepare their PhD application.
For the upcoming months, the partners will then carry out the study to further define the content of these activities.
